Day 80 – Soldotna Camp Day

Well it rained throughout the night and there is still a steady downpour today. Us desert folks are not use to rain so we are having another camp day just relaxing and watching the locals from inside our coach. It is now 2:00 PM and the outside temperature is 58 F. The forecast is for more rain for the next couple of days so we may have to just bite the bullet and do our day trips in the rain.

There has been one benefit to the rain; no glacier flour has appeared throughout the coach on this trip as it did during our 2005 Alaskan trip.

There was a large solar flare a day or so ago and it was predicted that the northern lights would appear. I was hoping to see them but with continued overcast skies here, I think that I will be out of luck.
