Days 84 & 85 – Kenai AK to Sutton AK

Day 84:

Today is our last day on the Kenai Peninsula. Most of the day was spent in preparation for the return leg of our trip such as laundry, vacuuming and storing items that were left out during the last couple of weeks. The evening was spent enjoying giant, fresh Alaskan King Crab legs and relaxing.

Day 85:

Today’s Mileage 205
Miles to Date 6123
Miles remaining to home 3901

We left Kenai and made our way up over the pass and then back down to the Turnagain Arm.

A little farther up the arm we top off the coach with diesel at the Essential Diesel station, price $3.519 a gallon, the lowest price we have found since crossing the 49th parallel. We than maneuvered our way through Anchorage to AK 1 Highway and are spending the night at a roadside pullout just a few miles before Sutton Alaska. We are about 250 miles from Tok, so it may be possible that we will make it to Tok tomorrow unless we slowed too much by frost heaves in the highway.

There is no internet access here, so this posting will need to wait for another day.
